I’m Jamie Reynolds, so glad you’re here. I am a wife (still newlyweds, just passed the 6-month mark), a dog mom to Gideon and Phoebe, an avid lover of the outdoors, and your new bestie when you need someone to make an excuse to justify your next trip or piece of cake!
I’m here to share with you adventures of marriage, life with our pups and anything else you want to talk about.
So, let’s start with married life…because I still love our story 🙂

My husband and I met on bumble on December 15th, 2021. To this day he will not let me forget that I owe him the cost he had to pay to extend my time to message him (for those who are not familiar, on Bumble, the woman has to send the first message and you only have 24hrs to do so or the match expires).
We had our first date four days later at Starbucks. We talked for four hours before either one of us even checked the time – and that was probably because we realized we were both starving! Over the first few days we had great conversation, so he optimistically bought us tickets to go watch the new Spiderman movie later that evening, which as a Marvel fanatic, I loved!
It’s safe to say, our first day was a success! Two days later I was set to fly home to New Mexico for the holidays and because I had recently had surgery, I was not allowed to lift my bags, initially I planned to Uber and kindly ask my driver to assist me. However, when I went to order it – it was going to be $200!!! And that was for one-way. I sent a screenshot to him, whom at the time was working about an hour away from my house and an additional 40 minutes from the airport, he told me he would come pick me up and take me! I thought, “Oh wow! What a gentleman.” So, where I would normally say no because I hate to inconvenience people (people pleaser), I accepted!
And the rest is history. He and Phoebe (our 6-year-old pup) moved in two months later. Our relationship came so naturally, my best friend describes our relationship in dog years. But she’s not wrong – we just clicked. And give me a moment while I gush on my husband, but I’ve never had a man protect me and my wellbeing as much as he does – he challenges me to prioritize myself, to say no, and to put up boundaries when I need them. The level of safety and security he provides is unmatched. Okay, I digress….back to the story.
We went on our first trip together later that month in February to Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park and had the absolute best time – minus the moment where I ate too many Colorado-friendly skittles and questioned my entire existence in the car. Hahaha.

Let’s fast forward to October 2022. We had a two-week road trip planned with some of our best friends to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. And it was AMAZING! If you don’t have it on your bucket list to visit the Tetons, you need to! And add a day or two to visit Jackson Hole.

The Tetons will always be an extremely special place in my heart because this is where he proposed – at Delta Lake, after a fairly grueling hike to get there!

After the engagement, we knew that we wanted to get married in a very intimate way and to be doing what we love most, which is traveling. So, we had already had a trip planned with a group of friends for the following summer to go to Kauai, Hawaii – and I mean who wouldn’t want to get married in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
We got married on June 15th, 2023, in Kauai- 1 year and 6 months after we matched. The day was perfect – it included a small group of family and close friends, a lush waterfall and of course a luau.

And we spent an extra week on the Big Island for our honeymoon, which was amazing! My favorite moment outside of the whole “I Do” thing – was us getting to go up to Mauna Kea and watch the sunset. It was a childhood dream of his and I am so happy that I got to experience that with him – even if we didn’t know if I was going to make it haha. The guide scared me into thinking I was getting altitude sickness and we actually had to head down the mountain. I was devastated and felt SO guilty that I was about to make him miss that moment, but right before we made it to the mid-way checkpoint, I started feeling better so we turnaround on the side of the mountain and headed back up to finish off the sunset above the clouds.

Since then, we’ve added one more to our clan, Sir Gideon! I started my own side business with social media management. And I’ve officially learned how to play Magic the Gathering – his favorite game! Don’t ask if I’m any good at it, that’s another question.

All-in-all, the first six months of marriage has been great, and we look forward to years of adventures together, visiting every National Park and traveling the world.
Thanks for joining us on our journey! Now it’s your turn – share your love story in the comments below 🙂
Til next time ❤
xoxo,
Jamie
